Adam & Eve Gives Celebrities A Toy To Play With For The Oscars

Oscar Swag Square imageThe day before the Academy Awards there’s an event where companies give products to celebrities in hopes of getting a photo of them holding it.  This year Adam & Eve decided to get in on the fun and give away “personal massagers”.  I’ve worked on productions with Adam & Eve for years, and was asked if I’d be interested in photographing the event.  I’m a huge Oscar fan, and I jumped at the opportunity.

I would have loved to have a picture of Helen Mirren holding a vibrator next to her face, but unfortunately that didn’t happen. I went into this event with hopes of meeting and photographing A-List celebrities, but they obviously went to other Oscar Swag parties.  We had a few Oscar nominees come through, as well as actors and other various movie and television industry people.  There were all sorts of different products being given away: makeup, skin care products, watches, shoes, and food.  But with vibrators, I believe we were by far the coolest table in the room.

Many people, both women and men were very interested in the Silicone G-luxe.  Some were willing to take pictures, and others were not.  We gave away plenty to celebrities who didn’t get pictures for many reasons: because their publicist wouldn’t approve, they worked for Disney or they were just embarrassed.  All kinds of people wanted one, from Judith Hoag that played April O’Neil in the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie to Ken Davitan that played Azamat in Borat.  One actor that I won’t name was kind enough to pick one up for his mother.  Speaking of mothers, the strangest request we had was from a mother and daughter that both wanted toys.  These two women were hot and when the mother said “Do you guys have anything for a mother and daughter?”.  I was a little shocked.

One of my favorite people to meet was screenwriter Raynold Gideon. I had no idea who he was based on name alone.  I got excited once he told me that he was the screenwriter on movies like Stand By Me and Starman.  I even decided to recite one of my favorite movie quotes from Starman for him, “I watched you very carefully. Red light stop, green light go, yellow light go very fast.”

It was a lot of fun explaining what the “personal massager” was and letting people feel it’s 7 different vibration speeds. In the end, I don’t know how much this event will help Adam & Eve promote their product, but I was more than happy to help them out by taking pictures.  Here are some of photos from the event.

Celebrities listed from left to right: Raynold Gideon, Phoebe Price, Rose McIver, Judith Hoag, Khylin Rhambo, Jennifer Blanc, Brandi Burkhardt, Ken Davitan, Jasmine Dustin, Ashlee Keating, Stephen Glickman & John Salley.
