If someone told me 20 years ago that I would end up working in the porn industry some day, I would have thought they were crazy.  I grew up in a small town in Oregon and lived a fairly boring life.  I didn’t have a girlfriend in high school; I didn’t even have sex until I was 19.  During my sophomore year of high school I fell in love with photography and for 3 years that’s what I concentrated on.  After graduating, I moved to Seattle to study photography at the Art Institute of Seattle.  I had dreams of becoming a fashion photographer, it seemed like a very exciting life.  2 years later I graduated and decided to move to Los Angeles with my then girlfriend who was also an aspiring photographer.  We had a choice of cities to start our careers, LA or New York; we felt that LA was the safer choice.  I sometimes wonder where I would be in life if I had chosen to go to New York.

During my first few years in LA, I worked in a couple camera stores before moving on to being a photo assistant.  I worked with various kinds of photographers and got to travel the country for work a little.  I eventually ended up working full time for a big name advertising/fashion/celebrity photographer.  It was a stressful job but it paid well & I got exposed to the world I had dreamed about working in.  I learned about large-scale photo productions, met a lot of amazing people, and worked with some major companies and magazines.  All good things must come to an end, and after a few years I decided it was time to move on and find other work.  6 months later I ended up working for a photographer on some shoots for Spearmint Rhino.  On these photo shoots there were camera guys that shot solo videos of the girls, one of those cameramen was a porn Director named Andre Madness.  I was looking for more work and Andre offered me a job as a grip on a feature he was directing for New Sensations.  I guess I did a pretty good job, because I’ve worked with him ever since.

I have worked in the adult industry for almost 7 years. When I first started, I told Andre I just wanted to be a lighting guy, but things change, and new opportunities came around. I’ve done pretty much every job you can do on a set from being a Production Assistant to Producing. Once I even got to be a stunt cock for a scene with a very large companies contract girl.  I perform, or at least one part of me performs in point-of-view blowjob movies that I direct, shoot and edit for Madness Pictures.  I love doing POV movies; it’s a style of porn that I like to watch.  I personally enjoy having that one on one experience with the female talent; I have no desire to do full sex scenes in front of the camera with a crew of people around.  Over the past couple years; in addition to working in the industry, I’ve also been active on the political front.  I was elected to the Free Speech Coalition Board of Directors; the FSC is the trade association for the adult entertainment industry.  I’ve always been interested in politics, but based off my Twitter feed alone, I highly doubt I would ever be elected to office, so I’m happy to be involved with the FSC.

I’ve lived in my rent-controlled apartment for 16 years now; I live a pretty low-key lifestyle.  I like going to movies, watching TV, eating out, and I’ve developed a little bit of an obsession for those Minions from Despicable Me.  I refer to myself as “The Average Mo” because I consider myself to be an average guy that just happens to work in the porn industry.  I don’t have lots of money, drive a fancy car, wear high-end clothes, or have a sculpted body.  I’m the guy that would rather grab a drink at my local dive bar that hang out in the VIP area at a Hollywood club.

I originally created my blog to have a place to post pictures that had nudity since most social networking sites don’t allow it.  With the help of Richard Avery and the fine people at I have transformed into a place that highlights more of my talents.  My passion will always be photography, but with my written blog posts and my show MORE w/Mo I hope to expand my horizons. My name is Mo Reese. I am The Average Mo, the average guy, with a not so average job.
